What are collaborators?
Collaborators let you co-author an Instagram post with other accounts — exactly like Instagram's native "Invite collaborator" feature. Once a collaborator accepts your invite, the post appears on both profiles and shares the same likes, comments, and reach.
You can add collaborators directly when creating a post, and we'll send the invites for you the moment the post publishes.
Before you start
A few things to know first:
Instagram only. Collaborators work for Instagram posts. The "Collaborators" button only appears when you've selected at least one Instagram account.
Feed posts, Reels, and Carousels are supported. Stories are not, Instagram doesn't allow collaborators on Stories.
Up to 3 collaborators per post. This is Instagram's limit.
How to add collaborators?
Start creating a post and select an Instagram account.
Upload your media (image, video/Reel, or carousel).
Click the "Collaborators 👥" button on the media preview.
In the dialog, type the collaborator's Instagram username and click "Add" (or press Enter). Enter the username only — no "@" symbol and no spaces.
Repeat for up to 3 collaborators. Added collaborators appear in a list below — click the ✕ next to any name to remove it.
Click "Save" to close the dialog, then publish or schedule your post as usual.
That's it! When the post publishes, each collaborator receives an invite from Instagram.

What happens after you publish
Adding a collaborator sends an invitation — it does not add them instantly.
Here's the flow:
The post publishes to your account.
Instagram sends each collaborator an invite (they'll see it in their notifications/requests).
Once they accept, the post appears on their profile too and becomes a shared collab post.
Until a collaborator accepts, the post stays on your profile only. This acceptance step is handled entirely by Instagram, so the timing is up to your collaborator.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
I don't see the Collaborators button.
The button only appears when an Instagram account is selected. If you've only selected non-Instagram accounts (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, etc.), the button is hidden. Add or select an Instagram account to see it.
I added collaborators but they're not showing on the post.
Collaborators only appear after they accept the invite from Instagram. Ask them to check their notifications/requests. If they ignore or decline the invite, they won't appear on the post.
My collaborator didn't get an invite.
The most common cause is a misspelled or incorrect username. We send exactly what you type, so double-check the spelling. Also make sure you entered the username without the "@" symbol.
It says collaboration failed / the invite didn't go through.
Instagram may reject a collaborator based on the other account's settings — for example, if their account is private, restricts who can tag or collaborate with them, or isn't eligible. Confirm the username is correct and that the account allows collaboration.
Can I add collaborators to a Story?
No. Instagram doesn't support collaborators on Stories, so they're only applied to your Feed post, Reel, or Carousel.
I selected Instagram plus other platforms. Do collaborators apply to all of them?
No. Collaborators are added to the Instagram post only. Other platforms publish normally without collaborators.
Do collaborators work for scheduled and draft posts?
Yes. Your collaborators are saved with the post, and the invites are sent when the post actually publishes — not when you schedule it.
