A social account is any social media profile, page, or location you've connected to PostPlanify so you can publish posts, track analytics, or manage messages from one place. Each connected account counts as one slot against your plan's social account limit.
What counts as one social account?
One social account = one publishable destination on a single platform. For example:
- One Instagram Business profile
- One Facebook Page
- One LinkedIn personal profile or one LinkedIn Company Page
- One TikTok account, X account, YouTube channel, Pinterest account, Threads profile, or Bluesky handle
- One Google Business location
If you manage three Facebook Pages and one Instagram profile, that's four social accounts.
Supported platforms
PostPlanify currently supports 10 platforms:
- X (Twitter)
- TikTok
- YouTube
- Threads
- Bluesky
- Google My Business
How many social accounts can I connect?
Each plan includes a different limit:
- Growth: 15 social accounts
- Premium: 30 social accounts
- Scale: 100 social accounts
- Enterprise: Custom
If you hit your limit, you'll need to either disconnect an existing account or upgrade your plan. See our pricing page for details.
How to connect a social account
1. Go to Dashboard → Social Accounts
2. Under Available Platforms, click the platform you want to connect
3. Authorize PostPlanify in the popup window, then choose the specific page, profile, or location you want to add
The new account appears under Connected Accounts immediately and is ready to schedule posts to.
Platform-specific things to know
You must connect a Facebook Page — personal Facebook profiles can't be used for publishing. When you authorize, PostPlanify lets you pick from any Page you have admin access to. Each Page you select counts as one social account.
Your Instagram account must be a Business or Creator account (not personal). You'll choose between two connection methods:
- Instagram Direct — connects directly via Instagram login
- Facebook Page Linked — connects via the Facebook Page your Instagram is linked to
Both work for scheduling, but features like the inbox may behave slightly differently. If you're unsure, start with Instagram Direct.
Both personal profiles and Company Pages are supported. To connect a Company Page, you need Super Admin access.
Google My Business
Google My Business is connected by location, not by Google account. If you manage three storefronts, that's three social accounts.
YouTube
Your YouTube channel must be phone-verified if you want to upload custom thumbnails.
Threads
Make sure you're logged into Threads in your browser before clicking Connect.
Bluesky
Bluesky connections cannot be refreshed. Unless you delete your "App Password" from Bluesky website, your token never expires.
Token expiry and reconnecting
Social platforms expire access tokens periodically (usually every 30–90 days). PostPlanify shows the status of each account on the Social Accounts page:
- Valid — green checkmark, ready to publish
- Expiring soon — orange warning when 7 days or less remain
- Expired — red error; posts won't publish until you reconnect
Click Refresh on any account card to renew its connection without losing your scheduled posts or analytics.
Disconnecting an account
Click the trash icon on any account card and confirm. Note: disconnecting will delete all posts associated with that account inside PostPlanify and cannot be undone. Your published posts on the platform itself (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) are not affected.
